  • Shane Chalker - 3 seasons
  • Shane Pederson - 3 seasons
As well the Victoria Junior ‘A’ Shamrock Organization wishes to applaud all these young men along with the rest of their teammates for their achievements and to thank them for their commitment to the game of lacrosse.

The Organization also has been blessed with having the involvement and contributions of a very large number of individuals who volunteer an extraordinary amount of time and expertise. With out these individuals we would certainly not be able to exist let alone be one of the most respected lacrosse organization in Canada.

Tony Bendall and Bruce Lesperance were recognized as the 2005 co-winners of the Bill Russell Service Trophy for their years of involvement with the team. Both men have shown a strong commitment to the organization, for which we have benefited greatly. Tony has been the man behind all the game day events and chores. His coordination skills have ensured everything gets done without a flaw. Bruce in his role as Equipment Manager has been instrumental in ensuring that all our dressing room requirements are complete. He has also been very successful in the long term planning and acquisition of the team’s big expenditures items with a keen eye for cost.

One of the highlights of the evening was presentation of the Bob Reid Merit Award. The purpose of this award is to recognize an individual who has made outstanding contributions to the game of lacrosse. In the 25 years that this award has been awarded, many individuals have been deservingly recognized for their great efforts.

The gentleman who was awarded the Bob Reid Merit Award in 2005 has been eligible for this recognition for many years, but some how has always managed to ensure that someone else was the recipient. He has been instrumental in the growth and development of lacrosse at all levels, from minor through all 3 stages of senior. Any person who has been involved with lacrosse for the last 20-25 years would be hard pressed to identify an area were this man has not contributed. To acknowledge all his contributions at this time would be require a very expansive listing. Suffice it to say that the award was very graciously accepted by Dave Ward.

A night like this would not be complete without acknowledging that several other people are also responsible for the success of an organization like ours. All our volunteers have made a considerable commitment to the game of lacrosse and we are more than fortunate that they done so for our organization. They are to be thanked with all sincerity for their time and efforts. We also recognize that these individuals often do this at the expense of their families and friends. We should also thank their support groups for sharing them with us and allowing them to be such an important contributor to the Victoria Junior ‘A’ Shamrocks.

On behalf of the Executive Board, thank you one and all for your commitment.

Dan Devlin – President
